I used colour and string in many of the carvings of this time [in St Ives]. The colour in the concavities plunged me into the depth of water, caves, or shadows deeper than the carved concavities themselves. The strings were the tension I felt between myself and the sea, the wind or the hills. Barbara… Read More Porthmeor

Lovely treasure trove of stitch markers gifted to me by the equally lovely @mariannelerossignol ❤️❤️❤️#knitfriends
Happy recipient of an aunty's knit 😊 This is the Lulu and Loui romper from @knittingforolive modelled by my cutie pie niece 🥰
My main knitting aim of the day is to finish a second button band on the big cardigan project I am finishing. So this kid's sweater improv is, what, 'breakfast knitting'? 'Warm-up knitting'? If those things aren't a thing, then they should be...
Get ready...just a few snips...waaargh! I cut my knitting! Even though I know the theory of how safe it is to steek, my heart is always in my mouth when I take the scissors to weeks of 4ply colourwork... #colourworkknitting #myhandsmaking #knittersgonnaknit #makersgonnamake #yokesweater
This little boofy nappy bum belongs to my darling, rose-gold haired niece, who despite being less than 6 weeks old is apparently determined to nail rolling over already! She is modelling the Beansprout Bloomers I made using the pattern by @knittingforolive 😊 #auntyknits #knitting #knittersgonnaknit #familyknits #wearwool
No time today (or most days) to take photos in natural light- reflecting that I have no time to knit in natural light just now. Starting in my new roles of Steiner class teacher and mum to a high school child (so many new things for him to lose and forget, from homework diaries to ties to locker and house keys...) has squeezed my resting time to the maximum and knitting has once again become that little pocket of sanity in my day. Working on an amazing colourwork yoked cardigan for my sister (a creative exchange for the classroom doll she made for me). It will get there, just as darling son will get there, and my day job will get there in the sense of becoming no less intense but having a little more flow. #teacherswhoknit #knittersgonnaknit #knitter #colourworkknitting #strandedcolourwork #myhandsmaking #wearwool
